Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon His faithful Messenger and upon all His family and companions. The Department of Islamic Studies is one of the important departments of academic studies in all cities of Libya because it aims to consolidate the correct Islamic faith in the hearts of students of the department's courses, correct their worship and dealings, spread Islamic knowledge, preserve the Islamic identity and our great Islamic heritage, and instill a love of advice and tolerance in the soul of male and female students to benefit the whole society.
The department is moving at a steady and deep pace with the rest of the college departments in order to develop, achieve the mission and objectives of the college, and work to keep pace with development and update educational programs in line with the college's vision 2023/2027 AD, through the relentless pursuit of institutional accreditation, and the application of the highest quality standards set by the Quality Assurance Center to obtain programmatic accreditation, which will enable the department to reach the highest scientific ranks.

Description
The department was established in 2001 within the University of Departments, affiliated to the Faculty of Arts Al-Asaba, and the Department of Islamic Studies has been working since its inception to graduate scientific cadre's males and females after qualifying them academically and scientifically at the highest levels, to provide great services to the community from the promotion of morals and refinement of behavior, and advice and guidance to the general public and their own. The Department of Islamic Studies also awards a specialized degree in Islamic studies. Also, since 2005, permission was given by the Quality Assurance Center to the department to start the master's high degree program. Many batches have been exited since the beginning of the program to date.
Vision
Reaching the department to an advanced degree in forensic sciences at the level of our universities and Arab universities in the field of scientific research and the services it provides to the community.
Mission
Focusing on acquiring specialized knowledge and developing related skills, and preparing scientific cadres capable of their field of specialization, to contribute to the preparation of research, studies and consultations in Sharia sciences, and work to reform what corrupts people's religion.
Goals
One of the most important objectives of the department is to preserve the Islamic heritage, preserve the language of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and consolidate Islamic concepts and ideals. And effective participation in advancing development and community service.
The objectives that the department seeks to achieve with its cadres can be identified in the following points:
- The department aims to spread healthy religious awareness and distance from extremism.
- Work on preparing a group of scholars and specialists in Sharia sciences.
- Graduating generations immune from destructive ideas that distort the Islamic religion.
- Holding seminars and scientific conferences in the field of specialization.
- Graduating students of Islamic science who are far from fanaticism, capable of criticism and analysis.
- Meeting the needs of the community of teachers of forensic sciences to educate the community of misleading ideas and phenomena.
- Meeting the needs of the General Authority of Endowments of preachers, preachers and imams.
- Understand the purposes of Sharia that call for doing good and avoiding evil and corruption.
